Strawberry Avalanche was created in January 2010. I chose this name because of the Owl City song of the same name.

I began my web design journey on matmice, you know, that site where you plug in some information and pick your background, and thats you site. I wanted somthing more, somthing better. I then found Webs (formerly FreeWebs). I liked it because there were real themes and you could have more than one page. I had that site for a while. I’m not sure of any of the URL’s but I bet some are still out there. I got bored of it because it was never really to costumizable at the time. I then moved to Piczo. I liked it because it was very user friendly and I could do what I wanted. I have and still have nine (9) Piczo websites. I may put the links up. Some of them have nothing on them because I deleted and moved to a new site…I don’t know why. I filled my Piczo’s with random pictures and words. It wasn’t until about a year into it that I found the “Piczo Pros.” The people on Piczo who knew html. I then went to a lot of the websites. I just copied and pasted the HTML codes and used them but, I never really knew what they meant. I then found “layouts.” You know, the ones of the pictures and they had columns and sections on them. I started to use those. I then got bored and moved back to Webs for a bit.

It was the time when MySpace was popular. I used all these crazy layouts and graphics on my profile. I always wonderd how people made them. I got my first MySpace “Site.” I got it from my friend. It was one of those contest sites. The ones where people would post theme pictures and then others would vote for the best one. No one came to it. lol. I then made it into a graphics site. I never ended up putting things on it. I then found someone who didn’t want their site anymore. She gave it to me! :D lol. I then went to put REOPENED. I then proceded to let people know that it was a new owner. I was going to put things up later. I still had the old content on it. I made a few things like image maps and updated the games on it, but never put alot on. Then, I found out about domains, well the MySpace ones. I wanted one of my own. I found one. I was getting a subdomain. (I had already had knowledge of FTP because I managed websites for local businesses.) I had no idea on how to make my own layout so I used a premade one. It was really tacky! I moved all of the stuff from the myspace to the site. I was so happy. I really wanted to learn how to make my own layouts. I looked at a bunch of tutorials. It told me to make an image in Photoshop and put div’s and image maps on it. I followed it. It was so simple. They were all tacky though lol. A few monthes later I found a domain host who would give me a free domain (co.cc) and free hosting. I was loving life. (My online one anyway.) I then moved everything from my subdomain to domain.

I created a new image layout and used iframes (yikes). My host loved what I “made” and I was happy. The site barely had any visitors, a few from the MySpace but, that was it. I then found Olivia @ So-Pink. I was hesitant on applying because she is really really really exclusive and wasn’t sure if I would be accepted. I then applyed for a domain. It was with this layout. It was an okay one, never coded, just an image. I didn’t get it. :( I was so upset. So, I created a new layout and applied a second time, this time for www.clipcrunch.com. I said Clip Crunch…PAPERCLIPS…CORK BOARD! So, I made a cork board layout. I got an email back from her. I was accepted. I knew this time I wasn’t going to make MySpace content any longer. I had no idea what I was going to do with the site though. I then found Vicky’s site Audio Rush. It was a great site. It helped me a lot. I never got around to coding the layout I made for my application. I didn’t know where to start. I then installed a billion blogging systems. I had no Idea how to customize any of them. I found WordPress. I used a premade theme but customized it, because I wasn’t allowed to use premades. I added a few things to the site and tried to make content. The site sat there for 3 monthes doing nothing. Then, in August, I created this Video Series, I needed a website. I already had one, so why not use that. I did. I created a splash page to go to the Video Series part and My Blog. I had it up for a month. I was supposed to update in 30 days. I then started to create the sections. Olivia had then chaged her rules. NO SPLASH PAGES. I had to start all over again. So, I did. It was October. I had a real site now.

I had a site called Clip Crunch. It was adopted from Done My Way (formerly So-Pink). I had it for about 6 months and then Olivia changed servers and did not want to host my site any longer. I then chose to create a new site. I had won a domain from the Name Cheap Twitter contest. They had .info domains on sale so, I decided I would go with that. I had a bit of trouble picking out the name, but then I looked to song names, and here we are. www.strawberryavalanche.info! :D

Thanks for reading my web history. I know it was long…I wonder if you read the whole thing. lol ;)
